First up, well-known franchise, Tops, is holding their annual shindig from 4 to 6 November this year at the Newlands Brewery. Here patrons can indulge in delicious traditional beer hall eats and the finest brews, served up by a bevy of frauliens.

You are the master of your own destiny at this bespoke brewery event, where you can order everything in advance online and simply arrive for enjoyment on tap at either an evening or afternoon session.

Pre-ordered platters of wursts, cheese, meat and giant pretzels are up for grabs in a number of configurations to suit your appetite, and the festival is offering a corporate package for year-end functions as well as the option to bring the beer to you at a venue of your choice.

The organisers have even gone as far as to provide an online shop where you can purchase lederhosen and dirndls and really slip into the part for your Bavarian blast.

Cape Town Festival of Beer

Touted as the largest festival of beer in the Southern Hemisphere, this event is on the go from 25 to 27 November 2016 at Hamilton’s Rugby club in Green Point.

Over 60 master brewers will be in attendance, with over 200 different beers to quench your thirst during the weekend, along with traditional eats from food stalls, pumping music, and rugby on the big screen.

Round up a posse of like-minded friends and join the throngs of beer enthusiasts, socialites, connoisseurs and party animals as you learn how it’s done at brewing demonstrations, experience blind beer tastings, and try your luck with raffles and lucky draws on the day. Other attractions include beer judging competitions, beer pairings, branded merchandise for sale and guided beer tours.
