Get set for luxury Cape Town showcased at its best when Decorex comes to town from 24 to 27 April this year. Fabrics, furnishings and all those little extra artistic touches will be on display for all to admire at this annual extravaganza of good taste and great ideas.
Decorex Cape Town upholds its slogan, “The Home of Great Ideas”, every year without fail, inspiring homemakers and interior designers from around the country to strive for ever greater heights. All of Cape Town’s most happening purveyors of the good life will be on show during this time, along with a number of interesting exhibits for the home fashion aficionado to enjoy.
I am looking forward to viewing the Private Property Trend House, set up to showcase how we can bring stylish innovation to our daily living with an office, main bedroom, bathroom, open-plan kitchen, dining room, lounge and patio set up for us to admire. If you are ready for a complete change, consultants will be at hand to advise you on purchasing a whole new house.
It’s amazing what a coat of paint can do to refresh a tired room and Plascon will be launching their new and exciting 2015 colour palette at the show as well as providing ideas for the funky new paint techniques that will be taking the walls by storm this year.
2015’s biggest kitchen trends, not to mention the very latest state-of-the-art products and appliances, will be on show in the Franke ‘Make it Wonderful’ Kitchen Design Project, sponsored by one of the world’s leading kitchen-systems suppliers. Here, Cape Town’s top kitchen designers will create four very unique kitchens, giving practical application to new directions in ergonomics, greening, space efficiency and more.
One of the most important elements of Decorex this year is once again the Spotlight on Talent initiative, where three of Inscape’s most promising young students will show off their talents and gain insight as to the market suitability of their most off-the-wall designs.
One for the ladies is the Beautiful Boudoirs display, featuring a trio of bedrooms kitted out by Cape Town’s leading female interior decorators.
There will also be a number of options for eating and drinking at the Dining and Entertaining theatre, featuring a number of cooking demos, along with the Graham Beck Wine bar for food and drinks, a gourmet food market by Consol, and a bistro serving delectable treats and coffees.
