A Cut Above the Rest

Kat van Duinen has been following her passion for clothes since she was a young girl, but only launched herself upon the deserving public in 2010.  Her designer boutique is located at a trendy address in the Old Biscuit Mill and has since become one of the most exclusive and well-known luxury Cape Town boutiques.

All her pieces are handmade with the utmost care and attention to detail and no garment is ever mass-produced or created in standard sizes. Kat van Duinen embraces the unique form of all her clients, with complimentary adjustments and fittings held in store to ensure the perfect match, subject to certain conditions.

If you cannot find something you like in store, she will design something especially for you, taking into consideration your ideas and preferences. Mass-sourced fabrics and generic designs are foreign to this sophisticated outlet. You can place your bespoke order via email on info@katvanduinen.com or enquire in-store.

Inspired by her grandmother, Kat van Duinen is passionate about creating unique pieces from top quality resources, and has been designing and producing her own clothes since she was at school.  Luxurious silks and exotic leathers are her brand’s signature materials.

For years Kat watched as her grandmother created her own fabrics from scratch and this hands on approach combined with her European heritage, make Kat’s high quality fashion items extremely sought after among fashionistas the world over.

Despite her European heritage, Kat remains proudly South African and loves to include striking indigenous prints and colourful hues in her creations. In addition, only materials sourced from South Africa are used to produce her garments, and every single item is made in Cape Town.

Kat van Duinen also produces a range of handbags and accessories using exotic leathers sourced from local farmers, who not only embrace the highest standards of animal care in their farming methods, but also provide gainful employment to locals.

You can catch up with Kat at her luxury Cape Town store, follow her fashion exploits on Facebook and Twitter, or browse and order online.
