What’s Up at the V&A Waterfront for 2021?

For many it’s all about the shopping at the V&A Waterfront and that’s not surprising when you consider the huge array of retail outlets and markets on offer. Yet, there are boundless other attractions up for grabs here too.

Upcoming events include Waiting for Gebane and Line in the Sand.

Art Par Excellence
The Zeitz MOCAA is a work of art both inside and out. Crafted from the historic silos in the district of the same name, this gathering of Africa’s finest artworks is a fascinating architectural gem offering fascinating insights into African artists and their work.

This is a must-visit spot during your trip to the V&A Waterfront, so put it at the top of your list.

Doing the Rounds
Like it’s London counterpart, the Cape Wheel offers stunning views over the glittering spectacle of Cape Town, the V&A, and the Atlantic.

It’s a delight for children and thrill-seeking adults alike offering the option to take a romantic spin with a significant other, or a round or two with friends and family.

You can enjoy a Picnic in the Sky onboard the Cape Wheel and seniors pay half price on Tuesdays.

A Tale of Two Oceans
The Two Oceans Aquarium is one of Africa’s largest aquariums showcasing life off the shores of Cape Town. Some of the 350 fishy fascinations on show here include turtles, octopuses, rays, and seahorses.

The I&J Ocean Exhibit boasts an awesome underwater tunnel that allows you to get eye-ball to eyeball with some of the specimens, and the African penguin colony’s a delight for nature lovers of all ages.

The Two Oceans is an event and function space and hosts special occasions like the After Dark music events, held at night.

Active Attractions at the V&A

The V&A also caters to the most energetic amongst us with activities for every taste. Some of the things you can get up to here include:

  • Stand-up paddling
  • Skateboarding
  • Jogging on the 5km track
  • Biking

You can also enjoy luxury cruises around the harbour, guided walks to explore the museums onsite, or a guided boat trip to Robben Island.

Once we can all travel safely again, you can rest assured that the V&A will be ready and waiting, and suitably sanitized for your enjoyment.
